As an introduction to custom post types, I created a book plugin that allows the user to add books with custom fields such as ISBN, price, publisher information, and more. The post type includes custom taxonomy, which in this case was defined as genre. A shortcode was used to display additional, randomized books, and a separate review post type was also created to allow users to leave reviews if logged in.
The theme was custom built and designed to reflect author Sally Rooney’s latest novel, Intermezzo.
